Barry Town United's fortunes were much better in their midweek game against Trethomas Bluebirds.
They beat Trethomas 4-1 away and reached the quarter-final of the MG cup with an impactful performance.
Barry took control from the game's start, with Keenan Patten scoring within ten minutes.
Making use of a cross from the right, Patten controlled and fired past home keeper, Harry Irving, giving the visitors the lead.
Barry keeper Luc Rees also exhibited great skill, saving a close-range shot before half-time.
This action packed game saw Lewis and Mike George crossing for Patten to score, leading the game with two goals.
Barry began the second half with the same energy, with Irving saving a fierce shot from Harrison Bright.
George and Ollie Hulbert partnered to add a third goal to Barry's already resounding lead.
Chipping the keeper, George himself scored the fourth goal.
Following a comfortable lead of four goals, Barry made tactful substitutions leading to Trethomas gaining some ground in the game.
Rees successfully saved a shot from Kallum Thomas.
The game saw Trethomas scoring a consolation goal through Jack Jones after 79 minutes.
In the injury time, Barry’s Harrison Bright set up Ieuan Owen only for his shot to be saved.
Barry proceeds to face Caernarfon Town at home in the league this Saturday at Jenner Park, kicking off at 2.30pm.
With the cup having a regional draw, they are set to confront a local rival in the next round, with options being Cardiff Met, Penybont and Cardiff City.
