IN the second round of games in the SW Premier League Cardiff Airport entertained Aber Valley at Jenner Park.
After a convincing win at Llantwit Fardre last week Airport welcomed back last season’s division and league top scorer Curtis Scotto back into the team.
Curtis was presented his trophies pre-match and later opened his account for the season scoring the only goal of the game in first half stoppage time.
Ely Rangers travelled west to face Port Talbot Town.
It was only 14 years ago - in the 2010–2011 season - that Port Talbot Town were playing in the Europa League! After going three goals down inside the half hour mark there was no come back for Rangers with 3-0 the final result.
In Championship action, Dinas Powys faced newly promoted Bettws in their first home game of the campaign.
They put aside their disappointment of a late defeat from last week and raced into a 3-1 lead at half time through an Izaac Follon hat-trick. Will Thomas scored Dinas’ fourth just after half time to seal a 4-2 victory.
It was a goal-fest at Canal Park where Vale United faced the Cardiff Bay Warriors - who recently returned from Canada after winning the Somalian Toronto Cup.
Connor James opened the scoring for Vale United and a Griff Watts second gave them a 2-1 half-time lead.
After another equaliser by the Warriors Steve Gauci again gave Vale the lead before yet another equaliser. Adam Preece hit Vale’s fourth before, once again, Warriors equalised - in the 88th minute - for a 4-4 draw!
Sully Sports played their opening game of the season at Swanbridge hosting Llangeinor and took the lead on the hour mark through Isaac Kahar but it wasn't to be as Llangeinor hit back to win 2-1.
Grange Albion 2-2 Cogan Coronation: Cogan Coronation travelled the short journey to play Grange Albion.
After going a goal down they took the lead through a Cameron Starling brace either side of half time only for Albion to equalise with a 98th minute penalty!
Next week it’s back to FAW JD Welsh Cup action. Holton Road will be looking for another giant-slaying act when they host Pill FC from Newport who play in the Gwent County League Premier Division.
Ely Rangers host last seasons rivals Treforest while Cardiff Airport travel to Neath to face face Ynysygerwn FC who play in the Ardal SW League.
Vale United and Dinas Powys are back in league action home to Afan United and away to Cwmbach Royal Stars respectively.
Sully Sports travel to Margam Youth Centre and Cogan Coronation host Maesteg Park.
