CARDIFF MET 1 BARRY TOWN UNITED 1: Report by Ian Johnson
BARRY earned an early season point away at Cardiff Met, drawing 1-1 after going behind to a second minute goal from the hosts.
Sam Snaith scored Barry’s second half equaliser, after joining the starting line-up as a late replacement for Kayne McLaggon, who picked up an injury during the warm-up.
The Cardiff club got off to the best possible start, with Sam Jones dispossessing Barry and setting up Ryan Reynolds to fire into the top corner from the edge of the box.
Barry got back into the game, though, dominating the first half territorially.
A long throw from Mikey George on the right was flicked on by Josh Yorwerth, but Callum Sainty was unable to get a vital touch at the far post.
Sam Snaith was set up by Ollie Hulbert for a shot from the edge of the box, but the rising effort went narrowly wide despite beating Met ‘keeper Alex Lang.
Hulbert himself saw Lang push away a fierce left foot shot from the edge of the box.

Barry’s equaliser came after 54 minutes in a well-worked move.
Robbie Willmott passed to Snaith at the edge of the box, who released George on the right. The cross was met by Snaith, whose powerful downward header into the corner gave the ‘keeper no chance.
At the other end, Tom Vincent got himself the other side of the Barry defence, forcing Barry ‘keeper Armstrong to push his shot away for a corner.
Barry had a 76th minute goal disallowed. Snaith found himself in space and chipped the oncoming ‘keeper, and Keenan Patten netted with a header, only to be flagged offside.
Met’s final chance came when Ryan Reynolds sent his shot wide across the face of the goal.
On Friday, 23rd August, Barry travel to Aberystwyth Town for a Cymru Premier match, before hosting Newtown at Jenner Park on Bank Holiday Monday at 2:30pm.
