Brynhill Ladies Golf Club had a good result at the Ladies Open.

The day was filled with sunshine while the veterans served home-made cakes and water at Corey's Corner.

The outstanding conditions of the course were credited to the green staff.

The event, with participation from 11 golf clubs from across the Vale, was made enjoyable by the efforts of all, particularly Audrey's baking skills, the captains and John Kirkpatrick, the starter.

Home winners at the event were Andrea Davies, Linda Hewlett and Babs Richard, with Jan Robertson, Julie Harkin and Sue Holland as runners up.

The visitor's winners were Sue Taylor, Jackie Simmons and Jen Pagram with Louie Davies, Rose Rosemary and Fiona Ricci as runners up.

The day concluded with an art demonstration by Vaughn Cummins, who painted a ‘Sunset over Snowden’ in textured acrylic using a palette knife.

He donated a pastel picture for the raffle, which was in aid of Crohns and Colitis.

There were also the results of a competition which saw Julie Harkin take the John Lowden Medal silver. Sarah Thomas took bronze in the John Lowden Medal and won silver alongside Babs Richards in the Lady Reardon Smith Silver Salver. Babs Richards also won bronze in the Winifred Clode Cup.

Christine Harrhy won copper in the John Lowden Medal and bronze in the Holland and Tattersall Cup.

The Golf Foundation Brooch went to Sam Pascoe, whilst Andrea Davies, Sarah Thomas, Liz Taylor and Claire Herbert had the Dirk Qualifiers.

Glynis Gould and Margaret Codd were runners up in the Lady Reardon Smith Silver Salver, with Glynis Gould also winning the silver in the Holland and Tattersall Cup. The Waterford Crystal Cup silver was won by Lynda Lloyd.

The nine-hole competitions were won by Chris Harrhy and Hilary Morgan.
