PICTURED are the players and officials of Rhoose FC who have won the 2nd Division of the South Wales Amateur League in their first season in the competition following promotion from the Vale of Glamorgan League in season 2006/7.
The club won the championship with four games to spare and will now be promoted to the 1st Division of the SWAL next season.
This caps an extremely successful year for the club, which has also seen the full amalgamation of the senior and junior sections into a thriving club that now consists of 17 teams of young people playing football on any given Saturday during the season.
The senior team would like to extend their appreciation to all their sponsors for the help and support throughout the season and in particular CW Facilities Management and Mitchell One, without whose support none of this success would have been possible. Also beside local businesses, long standing club members such as Keith, Russell and Jason Clements, Trevor Dally who have invested considerable time, effort and support in the success of the club.
The club would also like to thank the ground staff of the Vale of Glamorgan Park's Division for their sterling efforts in keeping the Ceri Road ground in tip top condition throughout the season. Indeed, the ground has been recognised as one of the best in the league by numerous visiting teams and officials to Ceri Road this past season.
