BARRY Central drew with Caerphilly Social on Saturday at Caerphilly, the score being 62 shots to 62 shots.
With the sides both playing in League 5 the game was played as 4 rinks of triples, 3 woods per player (Covid-19 regulations).
Central, Rink 1, A Williams, S. Downer, Skip G. Goldthorpe, 13 shots to Caerphilly 13 shots.
Central, Rink 2, D. Hunt, T. White, Skip John Bergland, 11 shots to Caerphilly 14.
Central, Rink 3, D. Brewer, A. Gibson, Skip Tony Goddard, 19 shots to Caerphilly 14 shots.
Central, Rink 4, R. Thomas, D. Goddard, Skip J. Lages, 19 shots to Caerphilly 21 shots.
Result – 62 shots to Barry Central, 62 shots to Caerphilly Social.
Total points for match – Barry Central 6, Caerphilly Social 8.
On July 3, a Munro Cup competition was held at Barry Athletic where Central lost to Barry Athletic.
Central are due to play Ynysybwl, Romilly, Roath Park and Millwood in the coming weeks.
Unfortunately Cadoxton, Murch and Belle Vue have had to drop out of the leagues for various reasons, but Belle Vue are now completing their fixtures as friendlies.
Barry Central have an attractive bowling ground situated in Gladstone Park and all are welcome to come and watch a game of bowls.
The club play matches on Wednesday and Saturdays but there are bowlers on the green playing social bowls during weekdays.
Central have been successfully running a special of offer of two hours of bowls for £5 between the hours of 11am to 5pm (booking advisable, telephone number is on gate sign by bowling ground) or details on our facebook page.
The club had four players on Tuesday and three on Thursday last week and they had an enjoyable game of bowls.
Clubhouse main room hire is available with bar facilities, kitchen, disabled access/toilets, ideal for parties, wakes, business meetings, reasonable rates and we are looking for banner sponsors for next season.
