CENTRAL won a home match against Roath Park in the Cardiff and District Municipal Bowling League (5) last Saturday with an amazing score line of 84 shots to Roath Park's 35.
Well done the team selected, and we must up our game for remainder of season as we will be playing away to maintain our lead position.
Being in League 5, the game was played as 4 rinks of triples, 3 woods per player (Covid-19 regs).
Central, Rink 2, skip Gary Goldthorpe won 17 shots to Roath Park 12, skip G. Walker.
Central, Rink 3, skip Tony Goddard won 18 shots to Roath Park 8, skip S. Harris.
Central, Rink 4, skip Dave Goddard won 31 shots to Roath Park 8, skip J. Roberts.
Central, Rink 5, skip John Bergland won 18 shots to Roath Park 7, skip R. Edmunds.
Result - 84 shots to Barry Central, 35 shots to Roath Park.
Match points – Barry Central 6, Roath Park 0.
Total points for match – Barry Central 14, Roath Park 0.
On Wednesday, 23rd June, we were away to Millwood Bowling Club and an evening of bowls was played (Monro Cup), with Millwood taking the honours.
Central have a special offer currently running, 2 hours of bowls for £5 with this amount taken off annual membership fee if you join us and you will be able to come to our social evenings of – music, quiz, bingo, etc. which we have started with a quiz night last Friday and this Friday there will be a music night.
Clubhouse main room hire is available with bar facilities (hygiene rated kitchen, disabled access/toilets), ideal for adult birthday parties, wakes, business meetings, reasonable rates and we are looking for banner sponsors for next season.
