I AM WRITING to express my concern regarding the level of pollution within the air over Holton Primary school, should the Aviva incinerator gain a licence.

My son attends this school, which is in the 1km risk area, spending more than six hours a day, five days a week in this environment, alongside the walk back and forth school every day.

There are approximately 400 children attending Holton Primary that will be affected by this, as will the families and younger siblings.

The Asthma UK Data Portal – asthma.org.uk/get-involved/campaigns/data-portal/ – shows higher than average asthma incident at local surgeries with Ravenscourt Surgery having eight per cent, West Quay Medical Practice at 8.92 per cent and Court Road Surgery at 7.2 per cent; and that’s just those diagnosed.

I fail to see why an Environmental Impact Study has not been done when this incinerator will impact a huge amount of children who live within, and around the 1km risk area, who travel to and from Holton Primary and other schools.

I feel strongly that the air quality should be monitored at Holton school for the health and wellbeing of the children.
