FICTIONAL emergency services dashed to Barry Island recently, to deal with an episode of seaside rescue.
Long-running BBC medical drama Casualty descended on Whitmore Bay, Friars Point and Marco's Cafe to film for an episode due to be broadcast in 2013.
But cast and crew were rendered casualties themselves - of the weather - as torrential rain put filming behind schedule.
Filming of the 26-year-old show has relocated to South Wales, from its original base in Bristol.
