I WOULD like to reply to the "anti-dog" type letters published last week from A Parsons and R Douglas.
I am not a dog owner. However, having been forewarned, I apprehensively walked the areas of the Witchill and Treharne Estates, Holton Road and Broad Street, and I have to say that I found these areas were clean and free of any offending dog mess.
I came to the conclusion that either all the dogs were in the pound or that owners were now becoming more responsible for their pets.
It is about time anti-dog persons stopped criticising.
I, for one, on seeing dog owners cleaning up, have made a point of thanking them on the spot for helping to keep our streets clean.
Perhaps if more people did this, the positive encouragement would gain more good humoured results than constant negative harping.
A new law does not change things overnight, as any intelligent person knows - it takes time.
