BARRY is to be the pilot area for the first on-line discount shopping village.
Shoppers can soon log on to a new website containing special offers from a range of local businesses.
The success of discount shopping villages shows that people love the idea of visiting one specific location to find a guaranteed bargain.
The revolutionary bogof.net goes one stage further and has netted all the best "bogof" (buy one get one free) and other great discounts around the region, in the form of printable vouchers.
Gareth Dupre, bogof.net founder, said that this is a shopping revolution and something that bargain hunters and businesses have been waiting for.
"Every shopper loves a bargain and there are hundreds of them out there; everything from plumbers and car mechanics to clubs, pubs and days out," he said.
"Unfortunately, many of the smaller businesses cannot promote themselves to this market because effective marketing is not cheap.
"Businesses can promote their special offers on bogof.net for only £10 per month.
We then heavily promote the website via local media and directly to large group collectives, such as students and large local businesses.
"We expect the system will strongly appeal to businesses who want to justify their marketing spend.
The nature of a voucher offers them defined feedback to see how well bogof.net is working for them."
A demonstration site is up and running, with the full bogof.net set to go live this month. For information contact Gareth Dupre on 029 20 793 175 or 07789 775900.
