IT'S EASILY one of the best children's TV shows on at the moment and now it has followed the likes of Rugrats and The Wild Thornberries by making it to the big screen.
But does it deliver what is expected?
When a multi-millionaire comes to Arnold's dead-end town to demolish every single building to build a new multiplex mall, Arnold and his friends set out to stop him.
Knowing the only thing that can save the town is a written document, they search the whole town to try to save the day.
Unlike Rugrats, the animation techniques have not gone through a dramatic change to make it more snazzy on the big screen. Instead, it keeps its rough style and beat tracks to keep it as hip as ever.
Hey Arnold has all the ingredients to make a great big-screen spin-off; a decent cartoon to begin with, a huge fan base and its interesting storylines.
However, the film's story is pretty much just bland.
When you are going to entertain kids, you may as well find something more decent than looking for a piece of paper.
But despite this, it still delivers the goods.
The poetic moanings of Helga and the dopey actions of Grandad keep the laughs intact, and while the parodies of Speed, Men in Black and Mission Impossible may not be the most original, they are still done well enough.
Just like the majority of other kids' movies, if you don't like Hey Arnold just go to sleep and let the kids enjoy it.
While the presence of Dan Castellenta, who voices Homer in The Simpsons, is also here, there may be another reason for fans to enjoy the film.
At the end of the day, it may be a little bland but it still does its job well.
