PICTURED right, Barry Rugby Club's Chairman, Mike Grigg (on the left), receives a trophy from Mr Malcolm Thomas OBE, President of the Welsh Society of Rugby Union Referees, for being "the best club in the WRU's District B".
To gain this trophy, clubs throughout Wales are "marked" by the referees for the hospitality shown by the home club before, during and after a game.
Barry, as members of District B, were competing against 28 other clubs including Cardiff, Penarth, Glamorgan Wanderers, Llantwit Major, Dinas Powys and Cowbridge.
The overall winner of the competition for season 2001/2002 was BP Llandarcy RFC of District D.
Unfortunately this Saturday's fixture against St Joseph's at Blackweir, Cardiff has been cancelled and the club are looking for a replacement fixture.
The Second XV are at home to Rhiwbina with a 2.30pm kick off.
