IF YOU want a predictable catch-me-if-you-can type movie then Road Kill could be just the flick for you.
Called Joy Ride in America, the plot concerns student Lewis Thomas (Paul Walker) who decides to drive cross-country to pick up his high school sweetheart, Venna Wilcox (Leelee Sobieski), from college.
On his way there, he bails his wayward brother, Fuller (Steve Zahn), out of jail. Looking for a good time, Fuller decides to ride with Lewis on his trip to pick up Venna.
He coaxes Lewis into playing a cruel joke through their CB radio, on a truck driver, known only as Rusty Nail (voiced by Ted Levine).
Convincing the trucker that Lewis is female driver Candy Cane they set up Rusty Nail.
Before the brothers get to Venna, the joke takes a deadly turn and a man is murdered.
Just escaping with their lives, Lewis and Fuller think the nightmare is over and drive on to get Venna.
But when they find themselves being relentlessly stalked by the psychotic truck driver, looking for more than an apology, it's a race against very high odds to survive.
It's not a bad movie, with some jumpy moments to keep you entertained.
And as with most DVDs there are extra features. In this case, you get two alternative endings, a deleted scene and the chance to see a storyboard ending that never actually got filmed.
