Barry Town Football Club players are reaping the rewards of their enthusiastic efforts to improving individual coaching qualifications.
Fourteen first team players have been successful in the Football Association of Wales Trust Goalkeeper's Award course which has been delivered by Vale of Glamorgan Council Football Development Officer Ryland Morgans.
This is the third in a series of foundation qualifications, which also includes football leaders and first aid awareness courses.
The players will now be able to put their skills into practice in training the younger players of the Barry Town Youth Academy (under eights to under-15s).
Ryland said: "It's been great working with the club, and manager Kenny Brown is very committed to the development of coaching qualifications and, of course, the Academy players.
"All the players have responded well to the courses and it would be great to see more clubs taking advantage of these coaching qualifications."
Kenny said: "I am very pleased with the response of the players who have been very enthusiastic during the courses and are now interested in gaining further coach education qualifications.
"I have been really delighted with the quality of the courses and with the progress of the Academy structure which director Andrew York has achieved with the assistance and support of Ryland."
