A VALE man has launched a campaign against the long-standing traffic problems at Culverhouse Cross.
Russell Godfrey, of Brooklands Terrace, is furious that yet another store is to be built at the site, worsening the gridlock.
In protest at Burger King and Marks and Spencer's latest expansion plans, the 41 year old organised a protest last weekend.
Mr Godfrey led a fleet of 30 cars which drove slowly around the busy junction jamming the highway for almost an hour.
The sales executive said: "This is my way of making a stand.
The Vale of Glamorgan Council keeps rejecting unpopular planning applications only for the Welsh Assembly to overturn the decisions."
His anger was sparked after failed proposals to build a Burger King drive-through restaurant in the parking area next to PC World were resurrected by an appeal to the Assembly.
An inspection carried out on January 7, granted permission.
This was combined with news that Marks and Spencer is extending the store, and plans for a crematorium in Wenvoe, just down the road, are also being considered.
Mr Godfrey added: "The traffic around this area is horrendous.
With another burger bar, a larger Marks and Spencer, and the crematorium, it will be a nightmare."
Marks and Spencer confirmed the store is expanding, but said they are working closely with the local councils to make sure the traffic situation is improved.
A Vale of Glamorgan Council spokesman said: : "It is disappointing that the Welsh Assembly Inspector has concluded that the existing landscaped car parking area has little amenity value and that the new building would not detract from visual amenities of the area or amenity of residents in Brooklands Terrace.
"In this respect, it will now be important to ensure that the materials and landscaping of the scheme are handled sensitively."
