A hospital ward has been received an accolade for high standards of patient care.
Sam Davies Ward, at Barry Hospital, has earned bronze accreditation in recognition of the "high standard of care" it provides to patients.
The certificate was presented on Thursday (28th November), by Jane Murphy, interim deputy executive nurse director for Cardiff and Vale Health Board, and senior nurse Sue Eshel.
The nursing team, led by Sister Linda Edwards, also embraced digital technology, being the first ward in Cardiff to use the Welsh Nursing Care Record.
The team now uses this digital data to help improve clinical practice for better patient outcomes.
The Cardiff and Vale Health Board Ward Accreditation and Improvement approach aims to promote a culture of empowerment that supports leaders and enables teams to strive for quality improvement, recognising achievements in patient safety, efficiency, and quality improvement.
