Barry locals were left stunned by a stunt man back in July 1990 when famous dare devil Eddie the Kidd preformed a daring leap on his motorbike in Barry’s own Romilly Park.

The spectacular feat saw the London born stuntman jump over a row of 12 taxis back in his heyday.

Kidd started his career at the age of fourteen and is the holder of many world records for jumping over cars and buses.

In 1993 Kidd travelled to Asia where he jumped over the Great Wall of China and despite over 12,000 jumps in his career, he only got his UK motorcycle licence in 1995.

This user said: “I remember this we were on our BMX bikes, and he came over to talk to us.”

Another said: “I was there I remember it well.”

Sadly, he was paralysed and suffered brain damage following an accident in 1996 and later died in 2021.
