A new yoga service is offering classes in Barry.
Humata, which also provides online coaching, focuses on the mind-body connection to support health and wellbeing.
The yoga classes are designed with a seasonal focus, intended to keep the mind and body in tune with natural cycles.
When the weather permits, these classes are held outdoors in parks and on beaches.
The founder, Sarah, has more than 30 years' experience as a yoga student and is passionate about making the practice accessible to everyone, regardless of their physical or mental health state.
This drive stems from her personal experience of the benefits of yoga during times of stress and illness.
The classes incorporate posture work, breathing, meditation, and guided relaxation, creating a therapeutic experience for the whole person.
Two public classes, suitable for all abilities, are available at Cemetery Approach Hall in the community garden.
Restorative classes are held from 7pm - 8pm on Thursdays, offering a therapeutic style of yoga promoting deep release and relaxation through passive postures.
Hatha classes take place from 1.45pm - 2.45pm on Fridays, where postures are practised and then threaded together to create a flowing sequence with the breath.
Both classes provide all necessary equipment and operate on a pay-per-session basis, making them a perfect opportunity for newcomers to yoga.
Humata has been supported by the Vale of Glamorgan council's Business Start-Up Bursary scheme, which helps entrepreneurs establish businesses that support wellbeing and community.
Bookings can be made through the Humata Yoga website.
