A number of planning applications for the Barry area have recently been approved by the Vale of Glamorgan Council.
Here are the applications approved between Monday, November 11 and Sunday, November 17.
Non-material amendment for porch
An application for a non-material amendment has been approved for a porch at 290 Barry Road.
The amendment involves increasing the porch size by 350mm and adding a pitched roof.
The council approved the change, as it does not significantly impact the approved scheme and has no adverse visual or local amenity effects.
The amendment aligns with national and development plan policies.
Discharge of condition
An application for the discharge of condition 20, relating to the remediation scheme for the residential development at the former sidings, Ffordd y Mileniwm, has been approved.
The condition required a remediation scheme and verification plan to ensure the site is suitable for its intended use.
The planners have been provided with the scheme.
Tree work
An application for tree work in the Barry Marine Conservation Area has been approved.
The work involves crown lifting an oak tree in the rear garden of 5 Cold Knap Way to a height of 3.5-4 metres.
The work must be completed within 24 months of the approval date.
Bats and nesting birds must not be disturbed during the work, and a full visual inspection for their presence must be carried out before the work begins.
Any deviation from the approved plans will constitute unauthorised work to a protected tree and may result in enforcement action.
Ground floor extension
An application for a ground floor side extension at 46 Tynewydd Road has been approved.
The work must start within five years of the approval date and be carried out according to the approved plans.
Biodiversity enhancements must be completed before the completion of the development and maintained throughout its existence.
Work to roof and chimney
An application for the removal of a chimney stack and replacement of roof slates at 21 Birch Grove, Barry, has been approved.
The work must be carried out according to the approved plans.
Biodiversity enhancement measures, as set out in email correspondence between the case officer and the applicant on May 31, 2024, must be fully implemented within three months of the approval date and retained while the development remains in existence.
