Its competitors were Tŷ Newydd in Penarth and Graylands House in Rhiwbina.

The judges first impressions of Tŷ Milkwood was that the exterior of the house resembled many of the other houses on its street.

Owain Wyn Evans said it was very ‘1970s’ in appearance. However, the interior of the property left judges stunned.

The property itself is a four bedroomed house that boasts a large open plan kitchen-living room, playroom, and hidden utility room.

Other features include an en suite connected to the master bedroom and a main family bathroom.

Judges were impressed by homeowners Lisa and Zoe’s good sense of interior design.

As part of the competition homeowners are asked to place a heart in their favourite part of the home. Couple, Lisa and Zoe chose the kitchen.

With ample workspace that overlooks the living area and garden it wasn’t hard to see why this was their main choice.

Judge Mandy Watkins described Tŷ Milkwood as ‘The ultimate family home’ and judge Glen Thomas added the property was ‘an inspiring modern family home.’
