A choir from the Vale has performed with celebrity singer and actor North Walian, Aled Jones.
Barry Male Voice Choir were invited to take part in Aled’s ‘The Full Circle’ tour which included the Memo Arts Centre in Barry on its gig list.
After 40 years in the business, Aled with his one-man show wanted to reflect on his singing career and look at it ‘full circle.’
The ‘Walking in the air’ singer performed a variety of songs both pop and classical and told lots of stories relating to his life and the arts which entertained locals at the event.
The event took place Sunday, November 17th.
The choir were selected to preform alongside Aled as part of the finale and sang the popular hymn "How great thou art."
Musical Director of Barry Male Voice Choir Dorothy Connell, 65 said the following about the event. She said: “It was a really lovely night, and he was perfectly charming.
“We sang one song with him as the finale, he was really lovely very appreciative that we had agreed to take part, and we were appreciative.”
Before guests arrived the choir also had the opportunity to ‘close the season of remembrance’ by singing the choir’s original song "Only remembered" to the backdrop of the Roll of Honour in the Memorial Hall.
The song is a tribute to those who died in conflicts and includes the name of Edmund Davies from Barry. Ed Davies' name is also recorded in the Roll of Honour.
