A new documentary about Barry’s favourite local festival has been produced.

The documentary titled ‘Behind the scenes at GlastonBARRY 2024’ is a backstage style expose of what running and setting up the festival entails.

The documentary is 19 minutes long and was produced by Festival Director Matt Blumberg and film company LUNA TIDES.

“It just catches the camaraderie of our team behind the scenes and shows some of the hard work that other people don’t really see. There’s a lot of work that goes into the build up for a whole year really.”

Iconic moments from the documentary included the construction of the 2024 Big Top tent and opening day of the festival.

According to Matt more than half of these are from outside of Barry. He said: “We get visitors from all over the world we sell tickets and it’s unbelievable where we sell tickets we’ve sold tickets in America, Canada, Australia, all over the UK and across Europe.

“There’s a family that come from Germany every year and there’s a bus load from Manchester every year so it’s a great little community.”

The event is Barry’s biggest musical event of the year and costs a whopping £400,000 to run.
