Locals in Barry came together to remember those who fought for their country throughout the First and Second World Wars.
The service took place last Sunday (November 10th) and saw many members of the community take place in a parade march towards the town cenotaph followed by a service to commemorate the fallen.
The event was attended by members of the Royal British Legion, representatives on behalf of the RNLI, various scouting groups, and representatives from Barry Town Council including the mayor of Barry councillor Catherine Lannucci-Williams.
A respectful two minutes silence was held at the cenotaph alongside the traditional wreath laying ceremony.
The event organised by Barry Town Council and the Barry branch of the Royal British Legion took place from 10:00am to 11:30am.
Many people online expressed their feelings surrounding the event.
One user wrote: “Amazing when Barry town march together. Very proud.”
Another said: “Thank you Barry you did us proud.”
This user wrote: “A tremendous day and a tribute to all.”
