The initial road closure will be at the pedestrianised zone of Holton Road from 10:00am to allow participants to travel safely.

At 10:15am the Police will close access to Holton Road from the roundabout intersecting Tynewydd Road and Wyndham Street to allow the parade to set off towards the cenotaph at the Memo Arts Centre.

As the parade marches, the Police will close all side streets as indicated on the map below.  These will include Newlands Street, Richard Street, Regent Street, Beryl Road, Greenwood Street, and Thompson Street.

For the duration of this road closure a diversion will be in place for traffic to use Broad Street and Butrills Road.

“Whilst we acknowledge there have been previous issues, we are confident all parties can move forward in their shared ambition to give Barry a Parade that serves the town proudly.

“This year, Barry Town Council is taking overall responsibility for Remembrance Event management, group participation, insuring, stewarding and road closures for the Parade through the town.

“We hope that the local community will attend and support this poignant moment. Remembrance is a time for reflection to honour the service and sacrifice of our Armed Forces.”
