A Rhoose Artist has been creating window displays for Remembrance Sunday.
Siân Dixon 51, better known as ‘ArtSiân’ works as a self-employed full-time artist.
She volunteers at South Wales Aviation Museum and has been creating local window paintings to commemorate the event.
Siân's passion for art began back in 2014 when she underwent an art diploma at Cardiff and the Vale College since then, she’s achieved a Bachelor of Arts in Ceramics and a Master of Fine Arts from Cardiff school of Art and Design.
Public reaction to the displays has been overwhelmingly positive Siân said: “The visitors at the museum really like them and appreciate them.
“I always change the windows with the seasons and usually never repeat the same design twice.”
Sian explained how she creates her pieces: “It’s mostly acrylic paint, with acrylic paint all you have to do is scrape it off and hoover up the bits and clean the windows as normal then.”
Each piece usually takes between 2-3 hours.
Siân offered some words of encouragement for aspiring artists she said: “Don’t be discouraged ever and if it’s what you really want to do you’ll find a way.”
For art enthusiasts Siân will be available to chat to at the Museum’s upcoming craft fair which will take place November 24th-25th.
