It was heard in court, the defendant went to the home of Mr Jacob Green who invited him into his home.

At some point after entering his home, the defendant shouted, ‘where is the money, I know you got money’.

He proceeded to punch and strangle Mr Jacob Green in a ‘viscous’ assault for around 20 minutes.

The defendant ‘ransacked’ his home and stole a bank card and cash from Mr Jacob Greens.

“It took a long time for me and my sister to get the house back into a reasonable state to live in,” wrote Mr Jacob Green in a statement read out in court.

The attack resulted in injuries described by the prosecution as ‘quite harrowing’ which left Mr Jacob Green’s face ‘completely covered in blood’.

“Mr Jacob Green went to one of his neighbours for help who described him as something out of a horror movie,” said his honour Judge Kember.

Mr Jacob Green went to an emergency hospital where he was unable to cough and take a deep breath.

He was examined and found to have strangulation marks and several extensive injuries.

These included but was not limited to fractured ribs, a laceration to his right eye socket and collection of blood and swelling to the skull’s left side.

He later received a CT scan which showed bleeding to his brain which has since 'resolved’.

However, he has reported continuing symptoms to his general practitioner about headaches and dizziness.

Mr Jacob Green has since struggled with everyday tasks like walking his dog and still suffers from nightmares and flashbacks, said the prosecution.

In a statement written by Mr Jacob Green, he said he feels ‘constantly on edge’ and is ‘trying to stay strong as person’.

His honour Judge Kember, sentenced the defendant to 18 months imprisonment for the assault and theft.
