A 22-YEAR-OLD man from Barry who was found to have a three-inch long blade in public was given a suspended custodial sentence.
Quazeem Bolaji, 22, of Robins Lane, Barry was found to have a three-inch-long black headed paring knife on Barry Road - a public place.
He was charged with the offence of possessing a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place, which he committed on February 18, 2024.
The defendant pleaded not guilty on Friday April 12, 2024, however, was found guilty (proved in his absence).
On August 8, 2024, he was given a custodial sentence of 26 weeks suspended for 12 months.
The cost to the prosecution service was £300 and the forfeit and destruction of the three-inch blade was ordered.
