A wall in a Barry Park has cost more than £1,000 to repair.

Last week, the Vale of Glamorgan Council's neighbourhood services team repaired a wall at Blind Park in Gladstone Gardens.

In a post on Facebook the council stated: “Now, the park is looking prim and proper ready for the Remembrance Parade.”

The wall appeared to be missing chunks of concrete and full of cracks but has since been restored to its former glory.

“Such a senseless act is completely unacceptable and represents an unnecessary expense at a time when local authorities are facing unprecedented financial challenges.”Restored wall at Gladstone Gardens Restored wall at Gladstone Gardens (Image: Vale of Glamorgan Council) Despite the council's best efforts to repair the wall many online users remained divided by the efforts put into maintenance.

One user wrote: “There’s a tree growing out of a crack in the wall.”

Another said: “You missed the plant growing out the wall bottom right blowing the render further. But a good start I guess.”

Some users genuinely appreciated the £1,000 wall repair.

This user wrote: “Looking good at my local park.”

Another put: “Looks fab.”
