A group of parents from Barry have formed a horror-based punk band.
Garbage Day Massacre formed last Halloween and has since been performing songs heavily influenced by horror movies.
The band has secured a small record deal with a label called We Are Horror Records and are available to stream on Spotify.
The band name is a reference to the 1980s horror film Silent Night Deadly Night Part 2.
Drummer Marcus Maurice, 43, explained: “So, we formed from a dad’s club in Barry called The Metallica and we had been interested in horror movies, but it all started on Halloween last year.
“The first single we did was called The Return of the Living Dead based on the 1980s movie and the other song on Spotify we have which is everyone's favourite is called HTDC which stands for Hootie Tootie Disco Cutie and is a reference to a film called The Greasy Strangler."
Fellow band mates include lead singer and bass player Huw Clarke and lead guitarist Zoey Allen.
The band likes to dress up in horror themed clothing and make use of theatrics. They often throw horror themed props like severed limbs into the crowd.
The band is set to perform a gig at Fuel in Cardiff at 10.15pm tonight (Thursday, October 31).
