Tree conservation works
The council approved the reduction of one previously reduced sycamore tree at Strady Lodge, Llancadle.
The work, which involves an approximate two-metre reduction, is to be carried out within 24 months as routine maintenance.
Strict conditions apply, including a mandate that bats and nesting birds must not be disturbed or destroyed.
A full visual inspection of the tree must be carried out prior to work to check for the presence of bats and nesting birds.

The work must be completed within 24 months, and the applicant has been asked to replace the tree.
Care must be taken not to disturb any bats or nesting birds.
A full inspection is required before work begins.
Double door
An application to form an opening in the rear elevation and install a double door at The Park on Park Crescent has been approved.
This will create access to the rear garden and assist as a means of escape in an emergency.
Work must begin within five years of the approval date and adhere to the approved documents.
Biodiversity enhancement measures outlined in the approved plans must be carried out in full before first use.
New house
Permission has been granted for a proposed residential development of a single dwelling on land adjacent to 44 Milton Road.
The property will be constructed on currently vacant, overgrown land.
The materials for the house include textured facing brickwork walls, concrete roof tiles, uPVC slimline thermally broken double glazed windows, and powder-coated aluminium thermally broken double glazed doors.
The council's approval conditions include that work must begin within five years of the approved plans.
Biodiversity enhancement measures must be carried out in full prior to the first beneficial occupation or use of the development.
No development or site clearance shall take place until there has been submitted to and approved in writing by the Local Planning Authority a scheme of landscaping.
The scheme shall include indications of all existing trees and hedgerows on the land, identify those to be retained and set out measures for their protection throughout the course of development.
Extension
An application for a rear two-storey extension, side extension for a new staircase, and a front porch for Tan y Fron, Barry, has been approved.
Work must begin within five years of the approval date and adhere to the approved plans.
