A number of planning applications for the Barry area have received decisions from the Vale of Glamorgan Council - or been withdrawn.

Here we take a look at the progress of applications that were either decided or withdrawn between October 14 and October 20.

Non-material amendments withdrawn

Two applications for non-material amendments for planning applications at 75 Pontypridd Road, Barry, have been withdrawn.

The first was for amendments to remove one window to the rear elevation of the dormer.

The application also asked to lengthen one of the remaining windows by 500mm and to add a bathroom window to the dormer cheek on the proposed right side elevation.

The second was to increase the width of a section of the extension by 435mm and change a door to a window.

Conditional discharge for Aberthaw Power Station

A conditional discharge application for details of the method of demolition and restoration of Aberthaw Power Station on Pump House Road, West Aberthaw, Barry, has been approved.

The council has approved a number of documents relating to the demolition and restoration and provided a condition that the work must be done in line with the approved plans.

Extension demolition and replacement

An application to demolish an existing rear single storey extension and replace it with a new rear single storey extension with conversion of a garage into habitable accommodation for 104 Colcot Road, Barry, has been approved.

The plans include changes to the garage roof, walls, and fenestration and associated external works.

The council provided conditions that work must be done in line with the approved documents and be started within five years of the approvement date. The biodiversity enhancements in the plans must be put in place prior to the first beneficial use of the development and remain in place whilst the development is in existence.
