A dead dog has been found floating in the sea at a Barry beach.
Chloe Huggins 25, and her son were at Whitmore Bay yesterday around 4 o'clock when her son saw something in the water.
Chloe explained: “Me and my son were walking along the coastline looking for sticks to throw for the dog, my son ran up to what he thought was a big log about waist deep in the water and I dragged him back and covered his eyes after realising it was a dog.“I sent my son up to the promenade with our dog and went in to get this poor pup. It was horrific! My son is heartbroken, bless him. I called my mum to come and get us and put the dog in the car and went straight to the vets, they were amazing in dealing with it.”
Chloe took the dog to Barry Veterinary care centre where the body was scanned for a microchip. Unfortunately, the vets didn’t have access to the database that the chip is registered on so were unable to see any of the dogs’ details.
The dog has been described by Chloe as: “A male small terrier/ cocker type dog, cream coloured with a dark spot around his mouth.”Anyone with information about this or who may know the owner of this dog is urged to contact Barry Veterinary centre.
