An incident involving fly tipping has been dealt with by the Vale enforcement service.

In a post online by the Vale enforcement service, an image shows many rubbish bags dumped at Cogan Pill in Llandough.

 

A spokesperson for the Vale enforcement service said: “Officers have attended and have thus far been able to identify a number of suspects in connection with the incident.”

Rubbish dumped included a significant amount of mixed household waste, weighing approximately a quarter of a ton, and evidence identifying residents in Cardiff.

Witnesses also reported that the waste was dumped by people driving a van.Dumped RubbishDumped Rubbish (Image: Vale of Glamorgan council) Interviews with suspects are currently taking place, and South Wales Police have been contacted to help identify the occupants of the van.

A spokesperson for the Vale of Glamorgan Council said: “Fly-tipping is a crime that the Council takes extremely seriously, with our officers regularly patrolling known hotspots.

“Anyone found to be committing this offence could face serious consequences, including a Fixed Penalty Notice, prosecution, fines of up to £50,000 or even imprisonment.”
