A Sully teenager has completed the Cardiff Half Marathon to raise money for deaf children.
Ioan Evans, 17, completed the run on Sunday, October 6, in two hours and two minutes.
He chose to support the National Deaf Children’s Society because he was born deaf and his family received support from the charity.
Ioan was aiming to raise £300 but has raised £455 for the charity, which supports the UK’s 50,000 deaf children and their families.
Ioan said: "What an amazing day – it was worth every minute.
"The crowd really gave me a boost whenever I started to get tired, and knowing I was doing it for the National Deaf Children’s Society, who really helped me when I was younger, gave me all the motivation I needed to finish."
Ioan lives in Sully with his mum Sasha, stepdad Paul, and sister Seren.
Hannah Awesome, who supports fundraisers for the National Deaf Children’s Society, said: "I want to say a huge thank you to Ioan for conquering the Cardiff half marathon for us - we’re so very proud of you.
"The National Deaf Children’s Society is dedicated to supporting the UK’s 50,000 deaf children and their families.
"The efforts of selfless fundraisers like Ioan will help us to keep on doing our vital work, now and into the future."
The Cardiff Half Marathon is an annual event that takes runners around Cardiff’s most iconic landmarks and historic buildings.
