A hairdresser from Barry has had the front of her shop painted to raise money for the Royal British Legion.

Andrea Wills Jones 54, is the owner of Ang’s Hair Salon in Rhoose to raise money for charity she’s had a remembrance mural commissioned on the front of her store.

The mural which was painted by local artist ArtSiân shows a soldier looking down at a field of poppies and a gravestone.

So far reaction to the mural has been positive Andrea said: “It’s absolutely fantastic, it took about two hours to complete so she wasn’t long at all, and everyone loves it.”

One online user commented: “That's so beautiful. Will make a donation now.”

Another wrote: “It looks fabulous, you always do good work for charities.”

This isn’t the first time Andrea has found a unique way to raise money for charity. Back in 2020 she and her friend Bronwen Hughes created poppy themed Covid masks and managed to raise over £1500.

So far, Andrea’s managed to raise over £250 with a donation box she keeps in her salon.
