The end of an era has officially begun with the last ever day of filming for Gavin and Stacey having been wrapped up.
The series was completed earlier this month (Monday October the 7th) in a mystery location in the Vale and won’t be appearing on our screens until Christmas day.
The iconic TV show first aired back in 2007 and has brought fans joy for nearly 17 years.
Marco Zeraschi of Marco’s café Barry Island was asked what he thought about the filming coming to a close.
Marco said: “17 years has gone by in the blink of an eye.
“I’ve been speaking to members of the cast and crew, and they said, ‘Marco it’s going to be a good one.’ They’re saying that it’s on for an hour and a half this final episode. So, there’s lot for people to enjoy.”
According to Marco Barry has a special place in the cast members hearts.
He said: “Larry Lamb loves Barry, he said to me ‘I’ve got a book so I’m going to come down here and finish it’ he loves it, and he likes to go cold water swimming in the morning.
“They are all such down to earth and lovely people I even said to James its 17 years you’ve been doing this, and you haven’t changed since the day I met you.”
After filming the final scenes the crew wen to enjoy a few cheeky bevvies at the Tadross hotel in Barry.
Where another iconic scene from the show takes place.
It's where Nessa and Doris almost face off about the non-existent salad for the christening buffet.
In the show Nessa manages to shout 'OH' at Doris, but the face-off is stopped by Smithy asking about Nessa and Dave's engagement.
Fans reactions to the last day of filming show how much everyone will miss the show.
One online user said: "I'm. Gutted it's going to be the last ever one but I'll be tuning in X mas day to watch it."
Another said: "Looking forward to it. It was great to see them in Dinas Powys."
Someone else wrote: "Thank you all for 17 years its been fantastic."
In an emotional speech earlier in the week in Dinas Powys James Corden addressed fans he said: "We really hope you enjoy the show it means more to us than you'll ever know."
All we can do now is sit back and count down until Christmas day. Do you think Nessa’s gifts have upgraded this year from celebrations and taps?
