A ROUND-UP of recent cases heard at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court.
JOANNE MORGAN, 53, of Pearce Court, Barry must pay £1,014 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence.
Her driving licence was endorsed with six penalty points.
HOLLY COTTER, 31, of Cei Tir Y Castell, Barry was jailed for eight weeks suspended for 12 months after she admitted stealing chocolate and cheese worth £276.50 from One Stop, Sully, goods worth £107.70 from Boots, Barry, 20 chocolate bars valued at £55 from Filco Foods, Llantwit Major and goods valued at £152 from Poundland, Barry.

DOMINIC EVANS, 54, of Headlands, Hayes Road, Sully was banned from driving for six months for driving without insurance on June 13.
He must pay £1,014 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.
CHRISTIAN O’BRIEN, 48, of Coed Bach, Barry must pay £140 in a fine and a surcharge after he pleaded guilty to speeding at 48mph in a 40mph zone on the A4119 in Rhondda Cynon Taf on November 1, 2023.
His driving record was endorsed with three penalty points.
KEITH MATTHEWS, 76, of O'Donnell Road, Barry must pay £398 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for speeding at 87mph in a 70mph zone on the M4 overbridge near Groes-faen on March 3.

BEKTAS BASTUG, 31, of Barry Road, Barry was banned from driving for six months for driving without insurance on Port Road, Wenvoe on February 22.
He must pay £552 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.
MICHAEL BOWLES, 54, of Morel Street, Barry, was sentenced to a two-year community order and restraining order after he pleaded guilty to assault by beating on May 25.
He must carry out 110 hours of unpaid work, complete a 25-day rehabilitation activity requirement and attend a “Building Better Relationships” programme.
DAVID NORMAN EVANS, 64, of Church Meadow, Boverton, Llantwit Major must pay £314 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for driving without due care and attention on Eglwys Brewis Road, St Athan on March 18.
His driving record was endorsed with three penalty points.
