A MAN from Barry was sentenced for causing £1,400 of damage to a defibrillator and door at a police headquarters.
Aaron Edwards, 36, of Vincent Close, Barry damaged the defibrillator and door at South Wales Police Headquarters in Bridgend on June 9, 2024.
The cost of the damage to the defibrillator and the door which belonged to South Wales Police was of the value £1,400.
On September 24, the defendant appeared before Cardiff Magistrates’ Court and was sentenced.
The defendant was convicted of causing criminal damage to property valued under £5,000.
The defendant was sentenced to a community order which will be in place until December 24, 2024.
For 12 months, he must complete alcohol treatment, rehabilitation activity for and 50 hours of unpaid work.
The cost to the Crown Prosecution was £85 and the amount of surcharge was £114.
He must pay £500 compensation in weekly installments from the start date, October 8, 2024.
