A council camera car designed to stop irresponsible parking has been caught breaking its own rules.
A Vale of Glamorgan Council spokesperson said: “The camera car is an important enforcement tool for the Council, used to combat problem parking, particularly around schools, which can lead to congestion and traffic issues-
“The Council is aware of an incident when it was not parked correctly. This matter has been investigated and dealt with internally.”
Jason Ude, 54, who took the photo said: “I got booked and fined for being an inch on a zig zag but yet they can get away with it and I called the enforcement and was fobbed off.
“This is classed as irresponsible parking which a member of the public would get a ticket for.”
The Traffic Management Act 2004 allows local authorities to control parking enforcement on yellow lines, resident parking, public car parks and on-street parking.
The Vale of Glamorgan’s penalty charge notice (PCN) can be up to £70.
