A NEW shop has opened in Barry’s Goodsheds.
The Muud Studio is the latest edition to Goodsheds and is a pottery-based business that specialises in a selection of different clay-based goods and ceramics.
The business is run by Beth Reese 27, and Zade Campbell-Davies 28, and has been open since Wednesday September 18.
When Barry and District News asked how business is going Beth Reese said: “There's a lot of contact down in Barry, and we decided it would be a great opportunity for us in the Goodsheds generally.“It’s a small space where people can come down and choose a piece of pottery they want to paint, and we take it away and fire it for them and then they get to take their masterpiece home.”
So far public reaction has been positive. Zade Campbell-Davies said: “We’ve been overwhelmed with the lovely comments and following we’ve got in that short time.”
The studio offers a wide selection of ceramics to paint and take-home including mugs, plates, mushrooms, Halloween and Christmas décor and dinosaurs.
Currently, the business charges a £5 studio fee that covers the glazing and firing process, prices for other items range from £8-£30.
A variety of different workshops are also available for members of the public to enjoy. Beth Reese said: “We had one last Thursday that sold out, so that was great-we made super mugs.” (A super mug being a larger than average mug.)
We asked if the business has any seasonal events coming up, Beth Reese said: “We’ve got Christmas and Halloween events coming up- on October 17th we’ll be making witches broom mugs.”
The business will also be present at Barry Town Councils Halloween ‘Which Craft’ event due to take place Halloween night (October 31) in Kings Square.
Muud Studio opening times are as follows:
- Thursday 16:00-18:00
- Friday 14:00-20:00
- Saturday 10:00-18:00
- Sunday 10:30-16:00
