There is always something happening in Barry to keep people entertained.

Here we bring you updates on three events that are taking place in the coming week.

Anthology of Authors

Barry War Museum & Heritage Centre, at Barry Island Station, will be hosting "An Anthology of Authors" event on Saturday, September 21 from 11am to 3pm.

The event features authors from the area who are invited to discuss their books, whatever their topic, with visitors.

Authors will also have an opportunity to sell their books at the event.

Admission is free and authors get free tea, coffee and cake.

The MemoPhonics

The MemoPhonics choir, conceived in 2023 with an aim to benefit the community through inclusive singing, especially in a post-lockdown world, will be hosting their regular September sessions at Memo Arts Centre.

For just £5, or £4 concession, any singer can join the choir with no auditions or pressure to perform in public.

They boast an eclectic range of music, from folk, gospel, and musicals, to pop, rock, jazz, and classical, all trained by their enthusiastic leader, Claire Watkins.

The sessions run on a Monday, with the next session on Monday, September 23.

Su Pollard

Legendary entertainer Su Pollard, who has delighted audiences for 50 years by starring in numerous TV shows and musicals, brings her new one-woman show, "Still Fully Charged", to the Memo Arts Centre on Thursday, September 26 at 7.30pm.

The show is an intimate evening with the award-winning Ms Pollard, who will regale audiences with hilarious stories, songs, backstage secrets from her diaries, and perhaps appearances of some familiar characters.

Su Pollard, the 2023 Panto Award winner for Lifetime Achievement and the 1988 winner for Rear of the Year, makes a strong statement that she’s Still Fully Charged and ready for action.

Tickets for the event are £27.50.
