A new pet-based business has opened in Barry's Porthkerry Park.

Zoom-Eze is situated in the golf hut retail spaces and is a new pet orientated business run by owner Lisa Charles.

The pet friendly space sells a variety of natural and organic pet foods and even provides an in clinic registered veterinary nurse who is available for drop-in appointments twice a week.

Barry and District News asked Lisa 57, why she decided to open the store.

She said: “So, most of my career I’ve been in sales, and I reached a point last year where I was a bit fed up with the corporate world.

“And I thought at my age I just want to do something that I love, and animals have always been my passion.”

“We opened in August, and we sell 100 per cent natural treats, chews, cat and dog food, kibble, and even ice creams."

The shop has a variety of different treats for pet owners to spoil their pets with.

So, anything like nails, ear cleaning, and maintenance checks any queries and concerns.

“You can either just pop in if she’s there or book to confirm a time slot.”

This isn’t Lisa’s first pet orientated business idea. She runs dog socialisation classes and runs a pet friendly taxi company.

Lisa explained: “I started researching to see what I could do that we haven’t got that we need as a community, and it started off with a pet taxi.”

“It’s really difficult getting a taxi that’ll take dogs it’s just really, really hard.”

The business is open seven days a week from 8:30am until 7pm. It is situated opposite the park play area in Porthkerry Park.
