Gavin and Stacey but with dogs? -'Woofsoccuring?'

Brian explained the rules and what inspired him.

“So, we thought we better do something for Gavin and Stacey, and I basically spoke to my 15-year-old daughter she literally first thing she said was ‘Woofsoccuring?,-I couldn’t get it out of my head for about 2 weeks.”

“Every 6 months or so we give away a golden ticket and a golden ticket means you get free dog grooming for your dog forever, and I thought before we kind of become a charity we need to do the last one.”

“So, we did it for this Woofsoccuring. - So basically, what it means is people can send us in a photograph of their dog in some kind of scene that they’ve interpreted from Gavin and Stacey, we put it on our Facebook whoever gets the most likes by Christmas day wins the eighth and the final golden ticket.”

The laugh out loud scenes featuring dogs has been immortalised in large polaroids and can be spotted on Brian’s High Street shop. Scenes like Nessa proposing to Smithey, the fishing trip and the Indian takeaway have all been recreated with dogs.

Brian told us about the impact the show has had on Barry:

“We are very close to Trinity Street we are the last commercial shop on the high-street before you hit Trinity Street-I’m always looking out the window and seeing people with their phones trying to navigate to Gavin and Stacey house.”

Vanity Fur received the UK Grooming business of the year award back in 2022.
