In August, there were two public notices relating to politics, including the suspension of a councillor and the return of expenses for the parliamentary elections.
Here we take a look at the two public notices. Public notices can be seen on the Public Notice Portal.
Councillor suspension
The standards committee of the Vale of Glamorgan Council decided to suspend Councillor V.P. Driscoll for three months.
The decision came on July 29, and it follows allegations that the councillor had failed to comply with the council's code of conduct for members.
The suspension will begin on August 8 and will last until November 7.
The Report and Decision Notice from the hearing are available on the council's website and at the Civic Offices on Holton Road, Barry, during normal working hours.
The council also offers hard copies of the report for a fee of £6 per copy.
Vale election expenses returned
In election-related news, the return of expenses for the parliamentary elections that took place on July 4 for Vale of Glamorgan candidates has been received and accepted.
Alun Hugh Cairns, Stuart Field, Ian James Johnson, Lynden Mack, Karnishka Narayen, Steven Rajam, Toby Rhodes-Matthews, and Steven Sluman, have all successfully returned their election expenses.
The returns, declarations, and accompanying documents are available for public inspection at The Vale of Glamorgan Council, Civic Offices, Holton Road, Barry, for a period of two years starting from the date the returns were received for a fee of 20 pence per side.
