Barry’s iconic vintage car show ‘Barryfornia’ has hit the streets again. The everything Americana car show organised by Rothfink Industries promises ‘an old school Pre 90's California Vibes Show.’
From classic BMWs to Volkswagen camper vans the event really had something there for everyone!
Barry and District News spoke to Claire Parkin, 48, a vintage car enthusiast who attends Barryfornia routinely. Claire said the following to say about the event:
“Barryfornia the name says it all, it's as close to California as we can get in Wales. Excellent day out for all the family. Sun, sand, sea, fish and chips or street food. Topped off with a massive doughnut.
The best part of the day is seeing all the vehicles that have had blood sweat and tears gone it to making them what they are today. Some reminiscing on the bmx's from when we were kids brought back so many childhood memories.
The atmosphere from the show is indescribable as everyone is so friendly, and they all share the same passions.
We don't go to shows expecting to win awards we just like to show them off with all the hard work we have put into them, but it is really appreciated when we do get awards for them.”
Claire is a member of a family group chat called ‘the Dub stars’ they regularly attend car events together alongside fellow car enthusiasts the ‘Valley dubs group’.
The family are proud owners of three vintage convertible golfs. Ranging from a yellow, to blue, and burgundy. Two of these cars are Barryfornia royalty having won awards for the ‘Early edition top 10 winner’ and ‘September edition top 10 winner.’
