Marco Zeraschi of Marco’s Café which features in the show understands the cultural impact the show has had on the town and his business- He said:

“Every time they come down here, there’s always a boom and when they leave there’s still a boom because when you mention Barry Island people say Gavin and Stacey, which is fantastic we love it’s an ingredient in a recipe.

“So, you add that ingredient into the recipe it makes Barry Island better-we get an influx of a lot of tourism and it’s not just local it’s international”

Marco Expressed his feelings about the last episode:

“It’s a double-edged sword this one I can’t wait to see them all again, but it’s coming to an end -I did have a message of one of the cast and they said Marco all good things have got to come to an end.”
