DOES your pooch need a soap, a soak, a brush and a good old quaff? Well, there’s a new dog groomers in town.

‘Groomer Has It’ is the first dog groomers to open in the Goodsheds.

Jodie Elliot, originally from Neath, but now living in Cardiff, is the latest businessperson to take up one of the fabled sheds of the Goodsheds.

Me Elliot, 31, originally studied childcare at college, but when, one fateful day, her local dog groomers was looking for an apprentice, Ms Elliot took the plunge into all the hair balls, clumps of fur, knots and everything else that ends up stuck in your dog’s coat.. and now she makes dogs across south Wales pretty and pristine.

Ms Elliot began her business in a trailer in Neath, but when she moved to Cardiff the commute from THE capital to what many might regard as ‘the rugby capital of Wales’ was getting a little too onerous Ms Elliot began looking for premises closer to home. That’s when Goodsheds popped up.

“I had seen Goodsheds before having viewed them online, said Ms Elliot. "When I wanted to set up in Cardiff I contacted them and said do they want a dog groomers and they bit my hand off.”

So what makes the Goodsheds so attractive to small businesses like Ms Elliot?

“I like how independent it is down here," said Ms Elliot, "and I can choose my own hours with the Goodsheds open from 7am until 10pm.

“Everyone is really welcome, the vibe is chilled, there is no targets you have to hit or anything like that, and Goodsheds itself is very helpfully in terms of promotion.”

Ms Elliot focuses on one-to-one appointments so that customers can come down and get the shop for themselves – booking is essential.

And Ms Elliot's top tip to keep your pooch in tip top order? Regular brushing – ideally once a day - but if you can't, come down to Groomer Has It and Ms Elliot will do it for you. It doesn’t sound like she’s going anywhere.

“The Goodsheds is just a good atmosphere to be in," said Ms Elliot. “I said to my partner I do not feel like I am at work. It is just a good place to be.”
