IT was a knockout on the water in Barry at the weekend! Did you manage to spot all the rowers at Barry Docks rowing round the Waterfront?

The event, aptly named ‘It’s a Knockout’ was set up by South Wales Coastal Rowing Club which got around 60 people together to race on the water, in a fun and friendly manner.

Event organiser Tony Peters explained the idea, saying: “With this event we were looking at putting on light-hearted races.

“We do a lot of league races with everyone attending grouped in their crews, but with ‘It’s a Knockout’ we mixed it up to make it more entertaining.

“We had people come all the way from West Wales. It was brilliant. We put on food and had a tug of war at the end!”

  • Update: Mr Peters wanted to say a special thank you to Clevedon Coastal Rowing Club with many of their members attending the event.
