A PADDLEBOARDER was reported to having been blown offshore in Barry.
Penarth RNLI were alerted to the incident which occurred on the evening of Saturday, August 3, however they were subsequently stood down after the paddleboarder recovered and managed to make their way back ashore.
Penarth RNLI Lifeboat Station wrote on their Facebook page: "On Saturday at 8.25pm, we were requested to launch to a paddleboarder reported being blown offshore in Barry.
"The crew assembled but was then stood down before launch because the paddleboarder had made their way back ashore.
"This was an example where the coastguard was called in good time by a member of the public.
Also, the support that “flank” lifeboat stations provide to one another when a lifeboat is off service."
